The Preventative Power of Thermal Imaging

What if you had a magical way to see imbalances in your body years before they developed into a real issue or life-threatening problem? What if you were able to always keep tabs on your health, and when an early imbalance was detected, you could easily reverse it with simple diet and lifestyle techniques—therefore preventing the development of anything serious? And what if that magical technology was affordable, non-invasive, noncontact, pain-free, FDA-approved, and completely safe?

You are in luck! We have that magical device. It is called “Medical Thermography”. Using a harmless infrared camera, a picture of your overall state of health can be taken. It allows us to detect physiological changes including imbalances, dysfunctions, infections, and inflammation in your body at a stage so early, they are easily and quickly reversable with simple diet and lifestyle techniques. And often years before actual structural damage and/or a disease may develop.

What Thermal Imaging “Sees”

An infrared camera simply measures the surface temperature of the skin. Through sophisticated software, the temperature readings are converted into an image on a computer screen. This image represents a geographical map of the surface temperatures of the skin. The reason that a thermal camera is a valuable medical device is because the surface temperature of the skin will change whenever there is an underlying imbalance, dysfunction, infection, inflammation, or injury. A thermologist—or medical expert in the interpretation of thermal imaging—can identify any abnormal temperature patterns and determine what it may represent, and let you know if further evaluation is recommended.

The following list is just a few of the conditions that have associated infrared signals:

  • Unexplained pain
  • Systemic and local inflammation
  • Dental and Sinus issues
  • TMJ inflammation
  • Neck and Spinal problems
  • Thyroid function challenges
  • Immune Imbalance
  • Breast Health
  • Breast Health Risk Assessment
  • Lymphatic Congestion
  • Hormone Imbalance
  • Digestive issues involving the liver, stomach, pancreas, intestines
  • Leaky gut
  • Injury Assessment and Monitoring
  • Musculoskeletal issues

Physiologic vs Anatomic Testing

Thermal imaging is a physiological test that provides unique information about the function and metabolism of your body that no other test can. For example, generalized inflammation in the body is a physiological process that creates distinctive thermal patterns—called “mottling” patterns—that can only be seen by an infrared camera. The ability of thermal imaging to assess and monitor inflammation in your body is one of the most critically important reasons to make regular imaging a part of your health routine.

Chronic inflammation can have severe damaging effects on your body. It is recognized as the most powerful promotor of accelerated aging and chronic diseases including arthritis, dementia, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, heart disease and certain cancers, especially cancers of the breast, prostate and colon. Common causes of chronic inflammation include toxins such as alcohol and smoking; a poor diet high in processed foods, red meat and sugar; obesity; emotional stress; digestive issues, especially leaky gut syndrome; and poor lifestyle choices, such as staying up too late at night and being sedentary.

The below images are taken “before” and “after” the client drank large quantities of alcohol. The “after” image on the right was taken the next day and shows extensive thermal mottling patterns, which correlate with severe systemic inflammation.

Before                                         After

In contrast, all Western imaging technologies currently available are “anatomical” tests, not physiological. They do not show physiological problems such as inflammation. Instead, they show an anatomical cross section of the inside of your body and reveal the structure of the underlying tissues. Examples of these tests are seen below and include an ultrasound, MRI, CT scan and mammogram. Anatomical tests only pick up abnormalities after there has been a structural change to your body. In other words, they are not preventative, but show you what has already developed.

Ultrasound                                      MRI

CT scan                                         Mammogram

Thermal imaging however, can reveal imbalances before structural changes have occurred, and at a stage so early that these imbalances are easily reversable with simple diet and lifestyle changes. Because Western Medicine is a disease care system, you have little control over your health decisions and therefore understandably, you may have lots of fear about getting tested. Thermography, is the opposite. It shines as a preventative tool that empowers you to have control over your health. Although it can detect diseases, it is ideal for healthy people and provides assurance and safety by keeping a close eye on your health.

My Passion

I was first introduced to thermal imaging in 2003. At the time, I had just left my surgical practice to dedicate myself full-time to teaching people how to create excellent health and prevent diseases. As a former breast surgeon, I was particularly excited about the potential of thermal imaging as a preventative tool. Because of my passion for this technology, I decided to become a professional interpreter of thermal imaging in 2016. I learned from my experience of interpreting images of the entire body from head to toe—not just the breasts—just how essential regular thermal imaging can be for helping people to stay healthy.

My passion for thermal imaging grew so much that in 2022, I decided to start my own mobile thermal imaging business. I realized that my diverse training as surgeon, natural health expert, certified thermologist (interpreter) and thermographer(image taker) uniquely qualifies me to provide the most comprehensive and highest quality of thermal imaging services. Not only can I take your images, but I can also interpret them, prepare the written reports and then coach you on what you can do to improve your health based on your thermal findings. There is nothing that satisfies my soul more than being able to help people improve their health with the assistance of thermal imaging.

Give yourself the gift of the ultimate preventative power of regular thermal imaging. Dr. Christine Horner’s Medical Thermography Group is here to serve you.  We so look forward to helping you achieve and maintain extraordinary health!
